LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear Foundation Friends: Each year, the Jefferson Scholars Foundation has the privilege of witnessing something extraordinary: talented individuals arriving at the University of Virginia with remarkable promise and others leaving with accomplishments that exceed even the highest expectations. This year’s Roll Call celebrates those journeys. It introduces the newest members of our community, recognizes our graduating classes, and reflects the breadth of achievement across our programs. Within these pages, you’ll learn about students whose curiosity, leadership, creativity, and service have shaped the University in meaningful ways. Their stories remind us that excellence takes many forms and that the greatest impact often comes from those who choose to use their talents in service of others. This year also marks an important milestone as we celebrate the graduation of the inaugural class of Walentas Scholars. Their success reflects the strength of a program that has quickly become an important part of the Foundation’s mission to attract exceptional first-generation college students to UVA. None of this happens by chance. Every Scholar and Fellow featured here was identified through the dedication of thousands of volunteers, supported by generous benefactors, and encouraged by faculty, alumni, and mentors who believe in the transformative power of higher education. Thanks to the generosity of our benefactors, the Foundation is able to support distinguished faculty whose teaching and scholarship enrich the academic experience for generations of students. Whether you are a student, faculty member, alumnus, volunteer, donor, or friend of the Foundation, thank you for being part of this community. I hope this report leaves you with the same sense of optimism that our Scholars, Fellows, and Professors inspire in all of us. They offer a glimpse of what is possible when exceptional people are given every opportunity to thrive. With gratitude,
